Winter Fun: New York in January

January 21, 2022 | 3 min Read

With the holidays behind us, it would be easy to fall into the winter blues if you weren’t in New York, the city that never sleeps and never stops. This week we have a line up of some of the best things to do this January in NYC.

We highly recommend checking with individual venues for updates on Covid restrictions.

NYC Must See Weeksm

The NCYgo.com website has developed a genius idea that allows visitors to purchase two-for-one tickets to an array of New York arts activities from January 18 – February 13. From art at the Guggenheim to jazz at the Lincoln Center to sightseeing cruises, NYC Must See Weeksm has an impressive list of activities and the two-for-one price tag is motivation enough to grab a friend and get out of the house!

New York Rangers

While it may seem crazy to seek out ice in the middle of January, the New York Rangers, New York’s hockey team, bring the heat! Catch a home game and watch the blades slash, the ice spray and the puck soar as New York’s team keeps its eye on the prize: the Stanley Cup.

NYC Ballet

Each winter, the New York City Ballet puts on a Winter Performance Schedule. While this year is pared down due to Covid concerns, the ballet will perform a one-act version of Balenchine’s Swan Lake. It’s the perfect foray into ballet for those hesitant to commit to a lengthy performance and still packs all the dancing, glamour and pageantry that patrons love.

NYC Restaurant WeekR

The annual New York City Restaurant Week is back with in-person dining this year. The event runs from January 18 – February 13 and offers special prix-fixe two-course lunches and three-course dinners with prices ranging from $29-$59. Restaurants participating in the event run the gamut from neighborhood pubs to high end Manhattan dining and include James Beard Nominees: Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Cafe, Hearth and more!

Broadway

If you haven’t treated yourself to a Broadway production yet, there’s no time like the present. Broadway’s legendary musicals are a sure fire way to put some spring in your step this winter! Currently running shows include hits such as Chicago, The Lion King and Hamilton!

About The Lombardy Hotel

The Lombardy Hotel’s timeless elegance is iconic to Midtown Manhattan. Our rooms are spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home. We look forward to hosting you on your next visit to New York City.

*Due to Covid-19 our restaurant, cafe and gym will remain closed for a time.
