From tennis to blues to roller skating and beyond, we have 5 great activities to make your New York summer memorable!

The US Open

Tennis anyone? There’s nothing quite like watching the best players in the game duke it out for the title of US Open Champion. The legendary tennis tournament returns to Queens at Flushing Meadows from August 29- September 11. The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center will be running at 100% capacity this year, which means more opportunities to watch some great matches. Tickets to the U.S. Open for the 25 tournament sessions, from reserved stadium seating to general admission grounds passes, are available on USOpen.org and Ticketmaster. For more information and schedules see the US Open site.

Met Sun Sets

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has launched a weekly music event dubbed Sun Sets targeting younger patrons. The event is designed to encompass a diversity of music, perspectives and international artists. Each week the Cantor Roof Garden on the Met’s 5th floor will host a different DJ from New York’s underground music scene. Stellar views of the park and the New York skyline provide beautiful ambience to accompany the DJ sets and mingle. There’s also a bar with light food fare for purchase.

The Sun Sets series will run Friday and Saturday evenings, from 5:30-8:30pm, July 1 through September 3. No reservations are required— but space is limited. For a complete lineup of DJs see the museum’s Sun Sets site.
