What To Do In NYC: 6 Upper East Side Attractions
October 2, 2018 | 5 min Read
Just minutes from The Lombardy, next to Central Park, you’ll find the Upper East Side. This neighborhood was once known as the Silk Stocking District. However, it is now one of the most affluent neighborhoods in NYC.
This chique neighborhood is where you’ll find some of the most famous NYC museums. In fact, the stretch of 5th Avenue between 82nd and 105th Streets is known as Museum Mile, though it was previously called Millionaire’s Row.
The Upper East Side is for those who love art, fashion, and living the high life. It’s a beautiful area and won’t disappoint.
Park Avenue Armory
Can you imagine a building that is equal parts industrial warehouse and elegant palace? That’s what this mesmerizing locale offers. It’s a gigantic space, known to be one of the only places that is big enough for some of the more epic productions the city has to offer.
Besides the exciting presentations of artists, directors, dancers, and impresarios, you can tour the Armory and see for yourself its unique qualities. Make sure to book tickets ahead of time.

Shopping in New York City can get pretty spendy, however that doesn’t mean you can’t find high fashion at a more affordable price. Just around the corner from the Armory is Saks Off Fifth, which is owned by the same company as Saks Fifth Avenue.
Here, you can find the same timeless high fashion, at a discount. Plus, it’s just on the other side of the block from the hotel.

However, you don’t have to be a beer snob to have fun here. They have games, like ping pong, and enormous hamburgers, smoked pork nachos, and gourmet sandwiches to go with the drinks.

Waterfall Mansion and Gallery
If there’s any establishment in NYC that represents the elegance and chic style of the Upper East Side, it’s this gallery. They call themselves a “luxury event venue and art gallery”. This doesn’t quite do it justice; you have to see it for yourself.
The art, decorations, and lighting is exquisite. The pieces are original, delicate, and perfectly styled. As opposed to its name, this gallery doesn’t just work with waterfalls, though many of the exhibitions do focus on flowing visuals. The variety of beauty will leave you breathless.
