Walk Your Way from The Lombardy to Times Square

Broadcasted around the world in a unanimous countdown, the Times Square Ball Drop is a spectacle no one can miss. If you are planning on spending New Year’s Eve in New York City, clear you agenda to see it live. Since streets are gonna be closed by 3:00pm, we planned a walking route from the Lombardy Hotel to Times Square, including a few stops you can take before welcoming the New Year.

The route itself its quite simple, walk down on East 56th street then keep straight until you reach West 56th Street. Make a sharp turn left on 7th Avenue and continue straight until you reach Times Square. The earlier you leave, the better spot you will find.

Leaving the Lombardy Hotel

Before leaving the hotel, make sure you are carrying comfortable, warm clothes. You will be spending a good amount of time outside in what could be freezing temperatures. Quick note: backpacks, large bags and umbrellas will not be permitted, so keep those safely in your room.

Ninth Street (First Stop)

Let’s start this journey with a rich cup of coffee. Right in front of the Lombardy Hotel, you will find the Ninth Street Espresso Coffee Shop. Keeping it simple and keeping it real, the Ninth Street serves good quality coffee to enjoy inside the cafe or to-go.

If you keep walking on East 56th street, you will find Così. It’s a fast delivery restaurant that serves flatbread sandwiches, pizzas, and warm soups, perfect for the cold New Year’s Eve. Comfort food on the go?

Obicà

How about making your last meal of 2018 a delicious trofie al pesto? Obicà Mozzarella Bar, Pizza e Cucina sits next to the Trump Tower and specialises in authentic Italian dishes. They offer a special winter menu and they also serve hot coffee and other coffee based brews.

Perhaps you are craving a sweet dessert before heading to Times Square. Milk Bar offers cookies, shakes, truffles, and even cakes for you to enjoy. With their fun pink theme, step into this marvelous store and dive into their sweet scented atmosphere for the perfect New Year’s Eve treat. If they’re good enough for Netfix’s Chef’s Table, then who wouldn’t want to try them out!

Souvlaki GR (Last stop)
