This week we have a round-up of 5 great comedy clubs in the Big Apple.
The Comedy Cellar
A club so funny and non-chalant to celebrity that it has a no phones policy, seems almost too good to be true. But drop into the Comedy Cellar for top tier talent and surprise sets from that are kept a secret right up until the last moment, and you may be pleasantly surprised. You may have heard of the Comedy Cellar through its features on the Comedy Central Network. To see who’s on, check the club’s line up which drops every Thursday on their website. The Cellar has two sister clubs the Village Underground and Fat Black Pussycat. Reservations for all three can be made online. Tickets run $25 and there is a two-item minimum (food or drink) for shows.

Gotham Comedy Club
The Gotham Comedy Club is known as a heavy hitter on the scene, with Seinfeld and others dropping in from time to time. It also boasts having launched talent such as Amy Schumer and Jim Gaffigan. Check the website for a calendar and line up for each week. A new talent showcase (Mondays) serves up promising young talent who just may be touring on the bigger circuits in a few years. Catch them now. Comedy Juice is Gotham’s weekly showcase of the best comics in stand-up; laughs guaranteed (Tuesdays). There are shows at least 6 nights a week. All shows have a two drink minimum.
If you keep your friends in stitches and have a knack for jokes, the Gotham Comedy club also offers classes in Stand up and comedy writing.

New York Comedy Club
The New York Comedy Club is doing such a bang up job delivering the laughs that it has two locations one on the East Side and the other in Midtown. With multiple shows per night, there’s plenty to choose from. The calendar here is jam-packed with laughs. Shows such as Thursday on 4th offer comedy at its finest in an intimate setting, with a comedian, a mic and a brick wall as decor. There is an $18 minimum on food or drinks per show. Thursday on 4th

Littlefield
Take the trip to Brooklyn to catch some of comedy’s hottest acts at a club called Littlefield. Littlefield is located in the back of Gowanus restaurant and seats 100 with standing room for another 200. Monday night’s “Butterboy” is smash hit and it’s Saturday nights are also packed with “Tinder Live With Lane Moore.” See the venue’s comic line up and purchase tickets at Littlefield’s website.

Greenwich Village Comedy Club
This intimate and cozy space for comedy is located underneath an Indian restaurant on MacDougal Street. As with most hot New York comedy clubs, you never know who might drop by for a set; the talent in this town is endless. The line up includes comics you might know from Netflix, Comedy Central, Kevin Hart LOL, HBO, Showtime, Amazon and HULU. The Greenwich Village Comedy Club is the brainchild of comedy genius Al Martin who also owns the New York Comedy Club and the Broadway Comedy Club.
