New York Fashion Week 2023
February 10, 2023 | 4 min Read
It’s NYFW (New York Fashion Week) starting this weekend in New York City, which means the fashion industry elite will be in town bringing with them the glitz and glamor associated with industry. If you’re interested in fashion or maybe just curious to see what all the buzz is about, this is your chance! Newcomers and veterans alike will be showing their Fall 2023 collections to audiences of influencers, celebrities, buyers, media and more. The official website for all things NYFW is a great resource. To purchase tickets to select shows, check out Fashion Week Online.
When
The American collections return with Rodarte kicking the week off on Friday, February 10, and LUAR closing it on the evening of Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Other hotly anticipated shows include: Thom Brown, Prabul Gurung, Altuzarra, and more. First timer, Heron Preston is expected to make waves.
Where
The preliminary schedule features 74 runway shows and presentations from returning brands. Spring Studios at 50 Varick Street is the main show space for this season’s fashion week, but designers will also host their own runway shows throughout NYC.
How to catch a show
If you’re not press or part of the influencer pack, you can still attend Fashion Week. A list of open-to-the-public events (and industry shows with RSVP information) during New York Fashion Week is available here. And you can find a complete list of shows on the CFDA site. Vogue or any number of fashion sites will give a play by play of outfits, designers and models.
If you’re unable to catch the shows in person, you can still see the best looks from fashion week through the Runway 360 digital hub, where all runway presentations will be streamed. Many designers and fashion houses will also livestream their own shows on their social media accounts. In this day and age, there’s no waiting for the press to put out photos or write reviews.
The Street Style
It would be remiss not to mention all the wild and very cool street fashion that happens during Fashion Week in New York. For all the aspiring Bill Cunningham’s out there; this is a great time to grab your camera and take snaps of the outfits worn by attendees, models and fashion icons as they come and go to the shows. If you’re interested merely in seeing who is wearing what, there are some fantastic instagram accounts to follow including:
