Get ready for the long weekend! Memorial Day Weekend in New York City offers a plethora of ways to enjoy NYC and also pay tribute to those who fight in our US Armed Forces. From Fleet Week, Free Museums, Yankees Baseball, military discounts to Art Fairs and Parades, you’ll find plenty of things to do on Memorial Day and weekend events.

Watch the Little Neck Douglaston Memorial Day Parade

The Little Neck Douglaston Memorial Day Parade is a classic Memorial Day parade steeped in history. It starts at 2pm from Jayson Avenue and Northern Boulevard where it has begun every Memorial Day since 1927. The tradition started with the American Legion Post #103 whose members created a march to remember their fellow soldiers who died in battle in World War I.

As part of the parade experience, there are free refreshments, including American classics such as hot dogs, White Castle sliders and more. While it is a bit outside of Manhattan, it’s a great way to spend Memorial Day in New York.
