Spring Blooms
What’s the first thing you think about when the word spring comes to mind? If you’re like us, then you think of the flowers that banish the gloom of winter and usher in the sun of summer. New York City, being as huge and diverse as it is, has several very iconic blooms for you to experience between March and May. Let’s take a look at the most impressive ones here.
#1 Orchids
Orchids, a sign of love and vitality, are also a sign of spring due to their love for cold weather. Whether you are a dedicated orchid fan, or just a fan of pretty flowers, you will appreciate the tender love and care that is given to these exotic flowers at the New York Botanical Gardens during their annual Orchid Show. Designed by world renowned Daniel Ost, the imaginative arrangements of these living sculptures will leave you breathless.

#2 Cherry Blossoms
Famous from Japan to the United States, cherry blossoms are a staple of the spring bloom. Difficult to predict, a cherry tree bloom usually lasts around two weeks, so you’ll want to stay tuned to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden’s website to see if the trees bloom while you’re in town. Take a stroll through their Japanese gardens under the pink and white blossoms. You won’t even remember you’re in New York.

Reward yourself by visiting the New York Botanical Garden’s with hills and valleys full of hundreds of thousands of the sunny flowers as they brave the chilly weather. Walking through these swathes of yellow, orange, and white petals is sure to lift your spirits.
