Christmas Morning Activities in NYC
December 17, 2018 | 4 min Read
We all want to spend our Christmas morning with our loved ones. Because of that, most stores and attractions in NYC will most likely be closed during the 25th. But fret not, there are still some awesome things you can do this on Christmas Day when traveling in New York City. We listed them here for you.
Rockefeller Center Ice Rink
One of the most fun activities to do during the winter season in NYC is undoubtedly ice skating. Whether a lovely paced skate with our partner or a first experience for the little ones, ice skating is fun for everyone. It’s a perfect way to get out of the house (or hotel) and spend the Christmas morning with family.

Horse and Carriage Ride
Horse and carriage rides are one of NYC’s Central Park most famous activities. It’s an iconic thing to do for the holidays, and a picturesque way to celebrate Christmas. It’s a romantic activity with your partner, a fun way to get pictures with your friends, and an exciting dream for your kids- basically fun for anyone! Starting at $55 with a Prix Fixe Christmas Day menu, enjoy warm cornbread with a butternut squash soup as an appetizer and herb-roasted short rib for the main dish. You can also order anything from their regular menu, if the Christmas menu isn’t to your taste. Have a marvelous lunch listening to some deep soul music.

There is one universal truth: movie theaters rarely close during the holidays. If you are in the mood for old movies and some good popcorn, the Film Society of Lincoln Center will be displaying a total of 5 classic movies like Cold War, Out of the Past, and Berlin Express. The first screening will start at 12:00pm. It’s a fun way to get out of the house, but stay out of the cold on Christmas day.
