If your mom is anything like mine, then she loves to get up and take a stroll through nature. Governors Island is one of NYC’s special gems. Where else can you find a place in New York City almost completely devoid of cars and crowds? Add in the abundance of nature and the quaint 18th and 19th century landmarks and you have yourself a pretty tour.
