New York City Festivals

With so much going on in NYC, you know you can find some great festivals. There’s something for everyone, from movie and music lovers to art and food. From now until June, you’ll never be lacking for something fresh and fun to do.

#1 Something for the Movie-Buffs

Get your fill of big names in film as well as up-and-coming filmmakers at the Tribeca Film Festival in Lower Manhattan. #2 Something for the Joyful and Eclectic

A festival that calls itself the “happiest festival of New York” and celebrates joy and life itself? What more can we ask for? The Holi Hai Festival of Colors is a time when people of all ages can let out their inner child and dance the day away under the sun. Live music and performances, food, and all the color you could wish for are what await these festival goers.

#3 Something for the Art Lovers

Art and spring go together like peanut butter and jelly. At Frieze New York, you’ll be able to enjoy, or buy, art from more than 1,000 artists from all over the world. This fair celebrates art from both galleries and individual artists, marking an expansion in the acceptance of “galleryless” art. This year, highlights will focus on modern art, architectural elements, and live performances and events. The point of art isn’t just to consume it, but to engage with it.

The venues are basically all over Brooklyn, so you can easily walk or bike between them and hit up your favorites. They also boast an innovation fair, where you can see what’s new for tech, media, and entrepreneurs for the future.

In an attempt to improve upon other beer festivals, the Five Boro Craft Beer Fest emphasizes their VIP nature with a limited number of tickets sold. However, the smaller, more controlled scale means there will be no lines, warm beer, nasty bathrooms, and other staples of beer festivals. Come and drink the fresh brews from over 50 local and out-of-state breweries and good food.
