New York City is filled with the best that street art culture has to offer. And we aren’t talking about tags or profanity. We’re talking about real bonafide art.
From original Banksy’s to up and coming new graffiti artists, the ever-changing walls of NYC will be forever filled with art. We chose 5 places you can find graffiti in New York City, in case spontaneous pieces of art is your thing.
2 World Trade Plaza
After the unfortunate events of 9/11, New York was changed forever. While most of the 2 World Trade Center site is still under reconstruction, eight muralists were invited to decorate the facade. Now this place, which made the entire world to stand still for a day, is now filled with colorful fun artwork.

East Village Walls
The East Village in Manhattan is filled with music, good food, and astonishing street art. One of the main attractions is the vast variety of graffiti you will be able to find. Groups like East Village Walls is dedicated to preserving, renovating, and creating new graffiti for the social setting. Famous Instagram artists, like Eduardo Kobra, have even contributed to the East Village buildings. Take a walk around the East Village and check out some local artwork.

Graffiti Hall of Fame
Founded in 1980, this famous spot in the Harlem schoolyard was primarily used as a space for old graffiti artists to express themselves without being prosecuted. Community leader Ray “Sting Ray” Rodriguez gave the concrete walls of the school its name and now it has been used as a canvas by the best of the best street artists. Their moto? “Strictly Kinds or Better” and we totally agree.

Centre-Fuge Public Art Project

Freeman Alley
In a little, hidden corner in Lower East Side lies the Freeman Alley. In this alley, many artists collaborate to keep the pathway gray-free. Go look for this vivid spot and enjoy a sweet cup of tea or rich coffee in the little coffee shop at the end of the alley.
